What is a Note on Facebook?
A Facebook Note was a feature that allowed users and Pages to create and publish long-form posts. These posts could have rich formatting options, including bold and italicized text, bullet points, and images.
- Introduced – Originally launched in 2006.
- Purpose – Allowed users to share longer posts beyond the character limits of regular status updates.
- Discontinued–Facebook removed the Notes feature in October 2020.
Unlike regular Facebook posts, Notes resembled blog articles and were often used for detailed announcements, personal reflections, or storytelling. However, Facebook discontinued the Notes feature in 2020, and users can no longer create new ones.
While existing Notes can still be accessed by their owners, Facebook now encourages users to share longer content through posts, articles on LinkedIn, or external blogs.
