Create a recording plan, not a finished video

The generator writes the words and scene cues for one video. It does not create footage, edit clips, add audio, or publish the finished video. Use the output as a practical first draft for recording and editing.

Each script separates the opening hook, main content, and call to action. Bracketed visual cues suggest where a shot or scene can change. Select one or three variations when you want different approaches.

The generated structure

Hook: the opening line for the first few seconds

Main content: the explanation, demonstration, or story

Call to action: one relevant step after the payoff

Give the script a filmable brief

A broad topic leaves too many decisions open. Include the audience, the point of the video, and what will appear on screen. The generator can then connect the spoken line to a useful scene cue.

Example topic

“Show small business owners how to turn one weekly theme into five social posts. Use a desk-planning demonstration, explain the three decisions, and invite viewers to save the process.”

  1. Name the viewer. Say who should understand or use the idea so the explanation starts at the right level.
  2. State the payoff. Give the lesson, result, or decision the video needs to deliver instead of asking for a script about a category.
  3. Describe the visual evidence. Mention the product, screen, demonstration, location, or action that viewers will actually see.

Choose a duration that fits the idea

The duration setting changes the amount of development available to the script. Choose it from the work the viewer must follow, then time the edited draft aloud before recording.

Duration Useful scope Editing decision
15 seconds One observation, contrast, product moment, or quick tip Remove setup that is not required to understand the payoff
30 seconds One compact explanation or demonstration with a few steps Keep each scene tied to one part of the explanation
60 seconds A short tutorial, comparison, or story with supporting context Check that the middle develops the opening instead of repeating it
90 seconds A fuller walkthrough or story where the sequence matters Cut side points that delay the promised conclusion
3 to 5 minutes A structured YouTube or general video with several connected points Use clear transitions and remove sections that do not support the opening promise

Edit the script for the person recording it

A generated script can organize your idea, but delivery still depends on natural language, accurate details, and visuals you can produce. Read every line aloud and replace wording the speaker would not normally use.

Time the spoken draft

Pauses, demonstrations, and scene changes use part of the selected duration. Shorten the copy if the useful visuals feel rushed.

Verify the claims

Check names, product behavior, instructions, examples, and any result the script mentions.

Match cues to available footage

Replace generic bracketed directions with shots, screen recordings, or demonstrations you can actually capture.

Video script generator questions

What this free writing tool produces and what still belongs in your recording workflow.

Is the video script generator free?

Yes. You can generate a script on this page without creating a SocialBu account.

Does it generate the video?

No. It produces editable text and visual cues. Recording, editing, audio, captions, and publishing remain separate steps.

Can it write YouTube and TikTok scripts?

Yes. Use the script generator buttons to choose Instagram Reel, YouTube video, TikTok video, or a platform-neutral video before generating.

Does the script include a caption?

No. The output covers the video script. Write the caption or description separately for the selected platform.

Continue from script to finished post

Refine the opening, write the accompanying caption or description, then plan the completed video with your other content.
