Affiliate Program Terms & Conditions
Last updated: April 2, 2026
By joining the SocialBu Affiliate Program ("Program"), you ("Affiliate," "you," or "Partner") agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions ("Agreement"). This Agreement governs your participation in the Program and supersedes any prior representations or agreements.
SocialBu reserves the right to modify this Agreement at any time. Continued participation after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
1. Eligibility & Enrollment
- You must be 18 years of age or older to participate.
- You must have an active website, blog, social media presence, newsletter, or other legitimate promotional channel.
- You must not promote content that is illegal, adult, violent, hateful, or otherwise objectionable.
- SocialBu reserves the right to approve or reject any application at its sole discretion, without obligation to provide a reason.
- Employees, contractors, and immediate family members of SocialBu employees are not eligible.
2. How It Works
- Upon approval, you receive a unique referral link ("Affiliate Link").
- When a new user clicks your Affiliate Link and completes a qualifying purchase, you earn a commission.
- Commissions are tracked via cookies. Only new customers who have never held a paid SocialBu subscription qualify.
- Existing users, plan upgrades by existing users, and reactivations do not qualify unless otherwise stated in writing.
- Trial signups that do not convert to a paid plan do not generate commissions.
3. Commission & Payment
- Commissions are calculated on net revenue (after applicable taxes, fees, and discounts).
- Commissions on orders that are refunded, charged back, or reversed will be voided and deducted from your balance.
- A 30-day holding period applies before commissions are marked as cleared to account for refund windows.
- Payment is issued monthly once your balance reaches the minimum payout threshold.
- You are solely responsible for any taxes arising from commissions earned.
- SocialBu is not responsible for fees charged by payment processors.
4. Prohibited Activities
The following are strictly prohibited and will result in immediate termination of your account and forfeiture of all pending commissions.
4.1 Paid Search & Brand Keyword Bidding
Zero Tolerance This is actively monitored and enforced.
You may NOT:
- Bid on any paid search ads (Google Ads, Bing Ads, or any PPC platform) using SocialBu brand terms, including:
- "SocialBu", "Social Bu", "SocialBu.com"
- Common misspellings or variations (e.g., "socialbuu", "social-bu")
- Any combination such as "SocialBu pricing", "SocialBu review", "SocialBu login", "SocialBu discount", "SocialBu coupon", "SocialBu vs", "SocialBu alternative"
- Display SocialBu's brand name or URL in ad headlines, display URLs, descriptions, or ad extensions.
- Set up redirect pages or landing pages designed to funnel paid brand-traffic through your affiliate link.
- Run ads targeting users who searched for SocialBu in order to intercept SocialBu-bound traffic.
Organic/non-paid search is permitted. Writing a review article that ranks organically is fine. Running paid ads on our brand name is not.
Violation of this section results in immediate account termination and forfeiture of all pending and unpaid commissions, regardless of prior warning history.
4.2 Trademark & Intellectual Property Violations
- Do not use SocialBu's name, logo, trademarks, or brand assets without prior written approval.
- Do not register domain names, social media handles, or app/store listings that include "SocialBu" or confusingly similar names.
- Do not create websites or content that impersonate SocialBu or could be mistaken for official SocialBu communications.
4.3 Self-Referral & Fraudulent Signups
- You may not use your own affiliate link to sign up for SocialBu or receive a commission on your own purchase.
- You may not create fake, duplicate, or proxy accounts to generate fictitious commissions.
- You may not incentivize users to create accounts they do not intend to use.
- Coordinating with others to artificially inflate referrals is fraudulent and will be prosecuted.
4.4 Coupon, Cashback & Incentive Fraud
- You may not offer unauthorized discounts, coupons, or cashback offers on SocialBu subscriptions.
- Posting fake or outdated coupon codes to capture traffic on coupon aggregator sites is prohibited.
- You may not run kickback-for-signup schemes without SocialBu's prior written approval.
4.5 Cookie Stuffing & Forced Clicks
- You may not drop affiliate cookies on users without their knowledge (cookie stuffing).
- You may not use pop-unders, iframes, hidden pixels, or automated scripts to fire your affiliate link without a genuine user action.
- Every click must be a genuine, voluntary user action.
4.6 Spam & Unsolicited Communications
- You may not send unsolicited bulk emails, DMs, or messages to promote SocialBu.
- All email marketing must comply with applicable laws (CAN-SPAM, GDPR, CASL) including proper opt-in, unsubscribe mechanisms, and accurate sender identification.
- You may not purchase email lists or use harvested contact data for promotion.
4.7 Misleading or False Advertising
- You may not make false, misleading, or unsubstantiated claims about SocialBu's features, pricing, or performance.
- You may not use fake reviews, fabricated screenshots, or invented testimonials.
- Pricing and feature information in your content must be kept reasonably up to date.
4.8 Unauthorized Channels
- You may not promote SocialBu on adult content, gambling, hate speech, or brand-unsafe platforms.
- You may not use browser extensions or toolbars that inject or override affiliate links without explicit written permission.
- Paid native ads must be clearly labeled as advertisements.
4.9 Disclosure Requirements
- You must clearly disclose your affiliate relationship with SocialBu in every piece of promotional content — blog posts, videos, social posts, emails, and any other media.
- Disclosures must be clear and conspicuous, not buried in fine print. Acceptable examples: "#ad", "#sponsored", "This post contains affiliate links", "I earn a commission if you buy through this link."
- Failure to disclose is a violation of FTC guidelines and this Agreement.
5. Monitoring & Enforcement
SocialBu actively monitors affiliate traffic, ad platforms, and promotional content for compliance. We use trademark monitoring tools and conduct regular audits of Google and Bing ads for brand keyword violations.
Upon discovering a violation, SocialBu may:
- Issue a warning and require immediate corrective action
- Withhold pending commissions pending investigation
- Terminate the affiliate account immediately
- Pursue recovery of previously paid commissions obtained through fraudulent means
- Take legal action where applicable
Affiliates found violating Section 4.1 (Paid Search / Brand Keyword Bidding) will have their accounts terminated immediately with all pending and unpaid commissions forfeited.
6. Termination
- Either party may terminate this Agreement at any time, for any reason, with or without notice.
- SocialBu may terminate immediately and without notice for any violation of Section 4.
- Commissions earned legitimately before termination and cleared (post refund-hold period) will be paid out at the next payment cycle, unless the account was terminated for fraud or policy violations, in which case all unpaid commissions are forfeited.
7. Program Modifications
SocialBu reserves the right to change commission rates, modify cookie duration or attribution model, or discontinue the Program at any time. Changes will be posted to this page. Continued promotion of SocialBu after any changes constitutes acceptance.
8. Relationship of Parties
You are an independent contractor. Nothing in this Agreement creates a partnership, employment, agency, franchise, or joint venture relationship. You have no authority to bind SocialBu contractually or make representations on its behalf.
9. Limitation of Liability
SocialBu shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages arising out of or related to this Agreement. SocialBu's total liability shall not exceed the total commissions paid to you in the 3 months preceding the claim.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless SocialBu and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your breach of this Agreement, your promotional activities, or your violation of any applicable law or third-party rights.
11. Governing Law
This Agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the applicable jurisdiction, without regard to conflict of law principles.
